As I all mention in my previous article about impulse turbine and reaction turbine, now in this article i will tell you all about difference between Impulse turbine and Reaction Turbine.
Difference Between Impulse Turbine and Reaction Turbine:
Impulse Turbine
- In impulse turbine steam passed from nozzle and hit with blades.
- Steam hits with high velocity with the blades.
- When steam hits with blades it's velocity remains constant.
- Blades of impulse turbine are symmetrical.
- There is a nozzle in impulse turbine.
Reaction turbine
- In reaction turbine steam passed from guide vane and hits with the blades.
- Steam hits with high pressure with blades and increase the kinetic energy of the blades.
- When steam hits with the blades it's velocity remains not constant and decrease.
- Blades of reaction turbine are not symmetrical.
- There no nozzle but guide vane work as nozzle.
