Different Kinds Of Shaft Use In Mechanical Industry

In my previous written article i was telling you about shaft, axle and spindle and now in this article i will tell you about types of Shaft that are use in mechanical industry and also use for different kind of work.
There are two types of shaft:
  1. Transmission Shaft
  2. Machine Shaft

Transmission Shaft:

Transmission Shaft is used to transmit power to machine from source. Counter Shaft,Line Shaft, Over head shaft and all kind of factory shafts are types of Transmission shaft.That's why transmission shaft has bending moment also with twisting moment.

Machine Shaft:


This kind of Shaft is working as a machine part. In other way this shaft also called a machine part that's why its called machine shaft.Crank Shaft is the very good example of machine shaft.

Use Of Shaft, Axle and Spindle In Automotive Engineering

Axle , Shaft and Spindle are mechanical things that use in mechanical industry and also in different kind of work. All three things has same round type of shape but in function and work all three things are different and important according to the work as i explain below all three one by one.

Shaft:


Shaft is a round moving machine element which use to transfer power from one place to another.The power transfer to shaft through  tangential force. In the result twisting moment or torque built in shaft and Power transfer to other machine part that were join in this shaft.

Axle:


Axle looking like shaft but function of axle is to much different from shaft.Axle is machine element which did not move but its use to transfer bending moment form one machine to another.Axle also give support to the moving machine elements like wheel of car.

Spindle:


Spindle also like a shaft but its length is bit to short. Spindle is use for giving the motion to cutting tool. Simple example of spindle is drill chuck that's give motion to drill for making hole.

Mechanical Engineering as a Auto motive Engineering

Mechanical Engineering as an Automotive engineering is a very necessary and important field in industry or in Engineering field. Mechanical Engineering is the field of  Engineering in which we study about machines and machine design, machine tool , machine drawing and so many other things.

Mechanical Engineering as a Automotive Engineering:

Mechanical Engineering considers as an Automotive Engineering because we study all about Cylinder head, four Stock Engine, Two Stock Engine, ICE(Internal Combustion Engine), Spark plug and many about related to Auto field. Some time or on some occasion Auto and mechanical field considered same that's why we called Mechanical Engineering as an Automotive Engineering.

Designing of different machine parts drawing , assembling and disassembling, manufacturing and all other things about design and invent on industry base related to mechanical engineering or Automotive Engineering.

Different Gauges Used In Mechanical Industry

There are different kinds of gauges used in Mechanical industry, some gauges are used for measurement and other are use for check the level of water or check pressure or also use to check temperature or measure volume and oil level etc.

Different names of Mechanical gauges:


  • Oil Gauge 
  • Pneumatic Gauge
  • Level Gauge 
  • Height Gauge
  • Thread gauge
  • Filer Gauge
  • Hydraulic Gauge
  • Pressure Gauges

Oil Gauge:


Oil gauge is very common use gauge in mechanical industry. it is used for measure the level of oil in machine cylinder and different other parts. It gauge is also use for measure the oil pressure in different motor cycle and cars.

Pneumatic Gauges:


Pneumatic gauge is also very much use gauge in industry . It is used to measure the pressure of air in machine cylinder and in different types of vales.

Measuring Gauges:


There are different types of measuring gauges use in mechanical industry. Some gauges use to measure length and some to use size of threads and different between two meting parts are called thread gauges and filer gauges.

Hydraulic Gauges:


Hydraulic gauges are use to check the level of oil in machine and different machine parts like cylinder pump etc.

Pressure Gauges:


Pressure gauges are used very commonalty in mechanical industry. It's use to check or measure the pressure of air,oil or other any liquid.

Mechanical Engeenier As a Maintenance Officer

If Mechanical Engineer works as Maintenance in-charge or Maintenance Officer in an Industry , he look after all the industry machine and provide good and working condition to operator or labour his first duty. Solve all the mechanical problem in machine and kept all the machine in working condition is the duty of Mechanical Engineer. Engineer have a team in which 2 or 3 Associate Engineer work under them and maintenance the machine and the machine parts.

Maintenance Engineer Duty in Industry:


Check the Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves

Check Machine Oil
Check all Machine Bolts and Nuts to be tighten Properly
Check oil filter 
Check about any noise from machine etc.

What Mechanical Engineer Do In Indutsrty

Mechanical Engineer consider the backbone of an industry and it doesn't matter industry belong to him or he works for an other industry. All the work of machines and solving the little and all big issues in machine is the duty of a Mechanical Engineer. Mechanical Engineer is the person who has different types of Status in different kinds on Industries. Mechanical Engineer work as a Production Manager or Operator all kinds of industries needed him badly.

Mechanical Engineer Status In Industry:

  • Work As A Production Manager
  • Work As A Operator
  • Work As A Manager
  • Work As A Maintenance Officer etc.


In all kinds of status Mechanical engineer giving the sporting role to an Industry and help them maintain the maintenance of machine and improve production by good production methods and skills.
